🧵 Would forcibly being injected with a drug result in you becoming addicted to it?
Anonymous at Thu, 18 Jul 2024 02:52:03 UTC No. 16285944
I was watching a show where the bad guy was injecting drugs (I think it was heroin) into a lady to try to get information/just being evil. Later she is rescued and is fine, but I was wondering what would actually happen, it's like biological right, but it wasn't administered in a very pleasant way.

What's a better treatment?
Steroid injection or Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). He seems to think PRP is better, but I wanted the anon perspective.

Are there any neuroscience fags here? I have suffered depression/paranoia all my life and have been studying some brain chemistry to understand why. Seems to me that my brain cells have some sort of cortisol receptor imbalance compared to dopamine and serotonin. It seems like either cortisol reuptake is delayed more than that of the other usual neurotransmitters. So i got to thinking that if there was a drug that could simultaneously heighten this reuptake while delaying that of dopamine and serotonin, it could improve my cognition issues which mostly manifest as a delay in making the necessary associations--emotional and thought based--which eventually contribute to my anhedonia and my inability to be productive at any level.
🧵 Coping with Low IQ
Anonymous at Wed, 17 Jul 2024 18:50:22 UTC No. 16285415
As we know, IQ is a strong predictor of financial success, self esteem, and confidence. If a human "is" their brain, then IQ seems like the most important measure of function, hence why /sci/ discusses it incessantly. As a person with poor cognitive metrics myself, including attention and coordination, low attainment, and high suicidiality, what is there for me in life but to die and hope reincarnation is real somehow?
I just can't grasp more advanced problems instantly like others can, and my memory's shot. IQ is immalleable, and even in children, intensive interventions only result in temporary gains, so what is there to do? Even an average IQ in the modern world feels like being a manlet in the NBA.

🧵 How to get that big brain energy like Terence Tao?

Yo senpai, what's good? I'm out here tryna level up my brain game, you feel me? I've been watching these TikToks about Terence Chi-Shen Tao (had to Google that spelling, no cap) and this dude's IQ is straight bussin'. Like, he's got that galaxy brain energy for real.
I'm tryna figure out how to get on his level, you know what I'm sayin'? Is there some kinda cheat code to unlock that 5head potential? I've been hitting the books, but my brain's still giving me the skibidi toilet treatment. Maybe I need to pay the fanum tax on some smart pills or something?
For real though, how do I stop this math brainrot and start solving those Fields Medal problems? I'm out here struggling with differential equations while Tao's probably solving the mysteries of the universe in his sleep. It's got me feeling like a total Peppa Pig, no cap.
So hit me up with some tips, senpai. How do I go from zero to hero in the math game? I'm ready to grind, but I need that secret sauce. Help a brother out before my last two brain cells yeet themselves outta my skull.
Peace out,
Jonathan Macintosh

>In the UK, some African groups have higher average educational attainment and standardized test scores than the overall population. In 2010–2011, white British pupils were 2.3% less likely to have gained 5 A*–C grades at GCSE than the national average, whereas the likelihood was 21.8% above average for those of Nigerian origin, 5.5% above average for those of Ghanaian origin, and 1.4% above average for those of Sierra Leonian origin. In 2014, Black-African pupils of 11 language groups were more likely to pass Key Stage 2 Maths 4+ in England than the national average. Overall, the average pass rate by ethnicity was 86.5% for white British (N = 395,787), whereas it was 85.6% for Black-Africans (N = 18,497). Nevertheless, several Black-African language groups, including Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Akan, Ga, Swahili, Edo, Ewe, Amharic speakers, and English-speaking Africans, each had an average pass rate above the white British average (total N = 9,314), with the Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and Amhara having averages above 90% (N = 2,071). In 2017–2018, the percentage of pupils getting a strong pass (grade 5 or above) in the English and maths GCSE (in Key Stage 4) was 42.7% for whites (N = 396,680) and 44.3% for Black-Africans (N = 18,358).

How do we remain coherent as humanity? Is humanity possible still, or we really became just individuals?
Emotions evolved, ( anxiety in this case ), so we'll know something ( in our life ) is not exactly as it should be... Even thou there is "science" (read as pseuds) that is entitled to hide itself in coat of medicine, that sole purpose is to eliminate negative emotions. That's why I am asking, did collective consciousness, our hivemind, become eternal coom brain? How otherwise you justify or explain elimination of emotion, that evolved also to protect you, and us. Negative feelings have it's origin, and you should act, not take a pill that makes it numb.
Aren't they just some sort of three letter organization creation, to suppress demand of change by the commoners? First, they drilled into skull and removed a piece of brain, now as chemistry are evolved, it seems all right to take a pill, but it's literally pill from group of people who use it instead of removal of part of your brain.
I've seen studies, that literally showed biomarkers on graph, that in case of pill, ware further away from healthy, than a person who is sick and doesn't have the pill.
If you argue, that depression is crippling, I can tell you, that there was solutions even before psychiatry became so widespread, and depression wasn't so crippling, because we as society acted, and world wasn't such depressing place. At least that's how I see it, also there ware cocaine in soda, which literally promote BDNF, which helps mental state.
Now they are looking for TAAR receptor agonist to cure something, I know one, it's meth, and it's been there before they stepped in. They usually overdose mice or rats, such emphatic creatures, just to prove toxicity. Dose in humans would be about 13grams of meth at once, at least that's for the study that is often cited.
Literally I've got 7,8-DHF confiscated by state, as medicine, it's BDNF thing without any side effects.
