πŸ—‘οΈ 🧡 Careers/degrees for retarded autists?

Anonymous No. 16486014

I am an old retard autist who kinda liked math back in school since I coul study them alone without socialising

1. What degree can I get that I don't have to pretend I am passionate on the subject, last time I quit college cause I hate tards pressuring me to lie about being passionate?

2. What degree can I get that it requires the least amount of socialising?

3. How can I get it without having to talk to younger people since I am old and hate them. Preferably getting the degree online?

4. Can I study myself the the basics online before I enroll or am I being delusional?

Ps. I suppose you can recommend other stuff like physics/programming/stocks since maybe I could get into them too

🧡 Simple oven model

Anonymous No. 16485914

I'm trying to remember how simple heat transfer differentials work and keep hurting myself in my confusion.
I took everything except multivariable calc back in uni, so every resource's insistence on using partial diffs is throwing me for a loop.
Basically, I want to model heat transfer from an oven to food. But with an ideal / simplified model to save my sanity.

Let's say I have the following:
1. A uniform sphere with radius r.
2. The sphere's thermal conductivity, k, which we will pretend is a constant?
3. A steady external heat source at temperature u_e applying uniformly to the surface area of the sphere.
4. The sphere's uniform starting temperature at time (t) = 0, u_0.

Then I want to solve the following things:
1. The time it takes for the center point of the sphere to reach target temperature (u0_f), t_f.
2. The temperature of the sphere's surface area at time t_f, s_f. (s = u at radius r.)
3. The temperature of a point halfway into the sphere at time t_f, h_f. (h = u at 0.5r.)

What is the generic equation supposed to look like? Is it not a simple single variable equation that I merely have to integrate to get distinct solutions?
I could have sworn heat transfer was used to introduce basic differential equations to us after we started to get comfortable with integration. Am I crazy?

As a topic of discussion beyond the above... has anybody else played around with (re)heating their food by using a high starting temperature and then dropping the temperature every few minutes? I can't be the only one who does this, right?

Perhaps the proof indicates a geometry instead of God, possibly the universe or comparable phenomena. Also could we get some book recommendations of where to go from here?

I'm looking for some advice regarding a back injury I sustained in a rear-end auto accident about 6 months ago. So far I’ve been
A) visiting a chiropractor for several weeks, then
B) had an MRI, and received back injections. However, I expressed to one of the doctors at the injection facility that the first injection made me feel worse than before, which has me worried about how this might be perceived in my case. I ultimately opted to
C) start physical therapy instead of my lawyer's preference for another injection.

In terms of damages, I received about $2,600 for the car, and I stand to get around $8,000 or more from the injury, after lawyer fees from the other person's insurance. I'm unsure if this financial aspect will influence my eligibility for disability benefits.

My last pain evaluation I said my pain level was at a 6/10, down from a 7 a few weeks prior and an 8 a few months earlier and I am concerned that this might disqualify me in the eyes of a judge during the application process. What should Ido? Tell them I'm feeling more pain all of a sudden. Would that be suspicious?

Help me think clearly about this guys.

New research analyzes two decades of Greenland land surface temperature (LST) data. Contrary to the popular narrative of a significant warming trend, Greenland has instead cooled from 2000-2019 at a rate of -0.055Β°C per decade.

Southern Greenland also cooled from 1958-2001, suggesting the region has been cooling for over 60 years.

🧡 Computers in math

Anonymous No. 16482471

>Within the last few years, however, computers have had a noticeable impact in the field of pure mathematics. This may be the result of the arrival of a generation of mathematicians who learned computer programming in highschool and to whom a computer terminal is as familiar as a telephone or a bicycle. One begins to see a change in mathematical research. There is greater interest in constructive and algorithmic results, and decreasing interest in purely existential or dialectical results that have little or no computational meaning. (See Chapter 4 for further discussion of these issues.) The fact that computers are available affects mathematics by luring mathematicians to move in directions where the computer can play a part. Nevertheless, it is true, even today, that most mathematical research is carried on without any actual or potential use of computers. - James Davis (1981)

What percentage of mathematical research is done with computers nowadays?
