How do you properly read this graph? More specifically,
What does the thin biggest line represent?
How are the edges of the boxes/candleshapes determined?
Why choose that specific determination measure?
The horizontal line within the box is the median supposedly, why choose the median and not average?
Thanks

š§µ Studying motivation
Anonymous at Mon, 11 Mar 2024 02:24:15 UTC No. 16067461
Are there any tv shows or youtubers or something that will motivate me to put more hours into studying?
If I wanna work out for hours I know I can put on David Goggins or listen to aggressive music or watch people training or whatever.
If I wanna lose weight I can watch my 600lb life or watch Cole Robinson on youtube calling people fatties or go to /fat people hate/ on /fit/.
But if I want to study for hours I don't really know how to motivate myself. 5 minutes after I begin I start to think about embarrassing things that happened to me years or decades ago, and have a strong urge to do something "fun".
What can I do? I I watch someone giving a talk about an interesting topic it's not going to motivate me, just want me to spend time on that instead of the things that I have to study for college. If I watch that "studying for 12 hours" zoomer on youtube it just makes me cringe because I know he's doing it for attention, probably not even studying and just browsing Reddit and despite all that studying he never accomplished anything.
Closest to what I'm looking for is probably the stuff by George Hotz.
š§µ Apply Math

Good Night /Sci/entists!
Welcome to my Science Foundation Meeting.
Apply Counting (this is important)
Apply Combinatorics (I don't know if this is useful)
Apply Combinators (Letters get changed into a Computer somehow)
Apply Linear Algebra (I don't remember why I wanted this. Parallel Programming?)
Apply MetaMath (I didn't know this existed until a maid told me)
Computers went wrong when they started giving them GUIs. Why should I want my Science Computer to run office software or have a GUI? It's job is running computations. It should be optimized around computing faster.
I have been reading advanced Computer Science and Mathematics research about Optimizing Compiler. I think probably the MAID OS should focus on running MAID-LISP code as efficiently as possible and the compiler making optimized code and then giving the full power of the computer to it so computation goes faster.
We have to code like computers are slow and expensive again, because interesting computations scaled alongside our computers so it doesn't make sense to pretend like they are cheap and fast, just because they are cheap and fast compared to the computers of 50 years ago. It no longer makes sense to pretend the the prime concern when making Computer Programs should be how much time it takes to write them. Optimizations are important for properly using the powers of our computers.
Please post advanced Mathematics and Computer Science research.
Thank you Dra/g/ons for reading my post.
