Why has nobody created a new face phenotype for CG like anime has for cartoons? it's clearly very popular because of how cute people think it is. But it's also very low quality and unrealistic IMO.
Why not come up with one that's realistic and also futuristic? It could increase the mass appeal exponentially.
Take the gray alien portrayal — it successfully captures the feeling that this being is very intelligent.
Make one that captures cuteness, intelligence or whatever other qualities people would like just like anime has And it could be the next big thing. I'd like to see what you guys could come up with.

It's more of a personal benchmark trying to get the most AAA looking 3D I could make.
Made using Blender, armor paint, Krita, material maker and Godot Engine under Kubuntu.

I have a High Standard Duramatic gun that needs a new grip made. Mine is broken and the previous owner was dumb and glued it back together and now it doesn't fit correctly. High Standard isn't making grips anymore and it doesn't look like they will be making any for a very long time, so I need a custom made grip. Normally gun grips are two pieces but this one is weird, it's one big piece with a looong screw that holds it in place (see pic). Should I get someone to 3D scan something like this (with hollow cavities) and adjust the model and 3D print them or should I just pay for a custom grip to be made from wood?

I just reported a bug using geometry nodes on the blender dev site.

Hey I’m trying to replace a missing part on one of my duel disks, which is that sort of brace for your arm that the Velcro straps loop through. Would anyone know where I could possibly order that part, or better yet, would there be any way someone could find or make me a 3D model of the part that I could print? I have not found anything online

I don't know exactly the specs for a beginner and I need it relatively economic, I will use Autodesk Maya, I don't have much budget for a super PC and every guide tells me to get a super PC, being aware that as a beginner I will last some years without even rendering yet

i mean, i used to be welltrained in it..still am too. know the shortcuts, know how model works, topology, blendshape,skinweight,hates zbrush, thinks blender is gay so on so forth...
but i just cant bring my self to work in it for some reason....idk what to do to just...dive back into it

Aspiring coomerdev here. I'm in the market for commissioning 3d character models, but I honestly have no idea what rates are like. I've only paid for concept art and pixel art before. Some of the quotes I've gotten vary wildly in price from $200 for just a bust to $300, $500, or even $1500 for a full, unrigged character.
My target is about <30k tris for a fully clothed character with hair. I believe in paying an artist for their work and I'm no stranger to adding bonuses, but I'm having a hard time budgeting 3d art. As a side note, would it be cheaper to create a modular character with facial/body morphs as opposed to a bunch of individual meshes?
