🧵 Youtube 'Science' Channels Ranked
Anonymous at Thu, 27 Jun 2024 17:01:42 UTC No. 16256818
Rank the 5 Best and 5 Worst popular "science" channels on Youtube.
This is not really in terms of entertainment value, production value, mere popularity, or how much you personally like the host. It is primarily about scientific accuracy and those producing it actually understanding what they're talking about, versus mindlessly regurgitating popular misconceptions and half-arsed science journalism for clicks.
Naturally there are channels claiming to be about 'science' that even a normie would never mistake for an actual science channel, crystal healing, diet fads, and the like. I'm not talking about those. I'm only talking about those channels high school science literate and science interested normies might watch believing they're actually learning something.
>If you don't know the difference, or are unaware of how many low quality and misleading channels are on Youtube you're probably not qualified to answer

🧵 SEXUAL IMPRINTING AND/OR CONDITIONING
Anonymous at Thu, 27 Jun 2024 14:23:05 UTC No. 16256657
Sexuality is a bit of a mess and arousal can come from a wide variety of things. The mechanisms behind sexual learning aren't perfectly tuned to only find the shape of a fit human attractive, and there are many indirect triggers at work. Some people find taboos to be a turn on, humiliation, doing disgusting things, outright abuse, object fetises like underwear, foot, armpit, furry shit etc.
One weird thing is that many men seem to be into dicks, but aren't too interested in the rest of the man. Whether it is because they project their own dick on that of the actor, or because the sight of dick is a turn on, men like to see dicks in the porn they consume. Shemale porn is absurdly popular because it combines dicks with the female body, and some say that this is the best of both worlds.
But why? Why would so many men be attracted to cock and turned on by women with penises? I theorize that, apart from the physiological projection/relating to the dick of another, there's some sexual imprinting or conditioning at work. Since early age, you're likely to see your own dick while masturbating, not necessarily all the time but often enough, and I believe that the brain is gradually linking the sight of a penis with sexual pleasure. Likewise attraction to vulvas is not because there's a perfect structure on the brain that tells you to be attracted to them, but because you end up associating them with pleasure and because you as a man have the impulse of penetration.

In a newly published study, scientists from the University of Tokyo teamed up to figure out how to attach engineered living skin tissue made of biological cells to the face of a humanoid robot. Their goal is to pave the way for a future in which robots can be coated in self-repairing, synthetic skin that could allow them to sense, and generally give them a more lifelike appearance.
“During previous research on a finger-shaped robot covered in engineered skin tissue we grew in our lab, I felt the need for better adhesion between the robotic features and the subcutaneous structure of the skin,” said professor ShojiTakeuchi of the University of Tokyo, who led the new study appearing in the journal Cell Reports Physical Science.
Earlier attempts to attach synthetic skin to surfaces had relied on hooks, or anchors to adhere the material to a robot’s face. For the new study, the researchers took a different approach, by instead opting to make tiny v-shaped perforations in the faceplate material that the skin could be attached to using a collagen gel with the aid of a process known as ‘plasma treatment’.
