Why do mathematicians bother with the continuous step that they cannot calculate anyway?

Suppose I am a King of a tiny island where I rule as an absolute monarchy. There is a small island which neighbours my country. That particular neighbour is a constitutional democracy.
There are rich families there that own the private sector of that nation. Could I collude with the government of that country to force those families to cede their companies to me just like Prince Salman of Saudi Arabia did to his enemies. He forced them to sign documents through the use of force and torture.
Are there any backlash to this?

𧡠Is teleport from Star Trek possible?
Anonymous at Sat, 19 Oct 2024 09:18:29 UTC No. 16439448
I think teleport from Star Trek can't work. It basically destroys your body and creates a new copy of it at arrival. This means that you die and a new copy of you is created. Teleport can't work with living beings, only works with inanimate objects.
What do you think?

What is gauge theory? What is a gauge? Manifolds and topological spaces make my brain hurt. Why can't it be simple instead of tensor wank with complex numbers?
What's the simplest gauge out there?

Quantum mechanics cannot be understood by a classical computer.
The mind is a classical computer.
The mind will never understand quantum mechanics.
The mind will never understand the underlying mechanisms that make the universe function.
If you have a thought that you think explains it, that thought is wrong because it physically cannot exist.

Whats the mechanism at play?
Does the fact that racism causes aging suggest that the healthiest way for humans to live is in racially segregated societies?

Anonymous at Fri, 18 Oct 2024 21:40:56 UTC No. 16438705
is there a way to self-study advanced math and science. like a pipeline from one topic from the next starting from basic level math physics engineering? does someone have a list that lists the early topics of study onward to advanced one?
like this:
arithmetic -> geometry -> algebra -> trigenomety/precalc -> calculus 1-4 -> higher level college math topics -> etc.
but for not only math but science and engineering as well.
I'm also looking for websites with free textbooks to learn from. is it important to learn from newer non-outdated textbooks or is it all the same info?
