sperg here. is there any way to force a "special" interest? I've been operating without one for a year and a half now, and forcing myself to do things I used to find interesting isn't cutting it

"It's pretty intuitive when you think about it, the flux of a vector field through the closed surface is the same as expanding the infinitesimal flux all over the volume contained by the surface"
This is just an example, but i think Math teachers should try to give more intuition (of course after the rigorous proof)

Something within me has always felt the claims that spicy foods can kill parasites within a human body sounds ludacris. Can anyone point to any studies that supports either factual information of parasites reacting with spicy foods within a human body or in general?

Why is 3/3 equal to 1?
Ok, so 1/3 is 0.33333 forever. 2/3 is 0.6666 forever. So, if that's the case, why is 3/3=1 and not 0.99999 forever? Where does the last little bit get added to 3/3 to have it equal 1?

The average math student never really learns about the axiomatic foundations of math. The only people still discussing things like ZFC are philosophers. Even many high level mathematicians never touch this stuff and probably couldn't even pass an exam on it. Like physicists, they seem to have abandoned the foundations of their own subject. Will mathematics eventually end up stagnant like modern physics if it keeps going this route?

Physicists love hyping up "mind-blowing" quantum discoveries like they prove how dumb we are. Lawrence Krauss once claimed an electron can be in two places at once and that people reject it because their brains can't handle it. That’s bullshit. If something's here and something's there, they’re two different things. Period.
Maybe physicists just decided to call the electron in two places the same electron because, for their purposes, it works. Like if 20 students have identical textbooks, you could technically say "the textbook" is in 20 places at once—but that’s just wordplay, not some deep truth. I suspect this "electron in two places" nonsense is the same kind of linguistic trick.
Can anyone actually explain how an object can be in two places at once without playing word games?

>regular no-name usb microscope cost 20-50 euro
>both look basically the same on their outside appearance
also, nobody in the microscopy field, neither in biology classes or in medical microscopy lab, uses this stuff, they use age old regular microscopes from 100 years ago or maybe a little more modern from 1980 but certainly not a usb microscope
so, I am asking is this just a scam?

🧵 CO2 Solubility
Anonymous at Sat, 15 Feb 2025 21:18:16 UTC No. 16587208
(1) What is the true solubility of CO2 in water, considering that CO2 breaks into carbonic acid this forms bicarbonate. Is this CO2 in the form of nano-gas bubbles, or does it actually exist in the form of carbonic acid and bicarbonate, or perhaps rapidly changing form between them.
Basically, if the CO2 solubility limit is 1g/L, does this mean 1g/L of CO2 nano-bubble gas, or does it include some amount of carbonic acid and bicarbonate as well?
(2) How to increase the solubility of CO2 in water. For example high proof alcohol might have 10x higher CO2 solubility. How would one for example use clever chemistry tricks to super-saturate a beer with CO2 significantly beyond the measily1g/L CO2 solubility.
Does a sealed plastic bottle with baking soda automatically create the maximum CO2 gas solubility in water?
