🧵 Is this the board for 3-D prints?
Anonymous at Wed, 17 Aug 2022 16:33:06 UTC No. 914399
Im looking for files that can be 3D printed, with the typical memes like Pepe and Wojak can be found..
None of the large 3D printing sites have these characters. I assume theyve been removed/censored.
Anybody know where they can be found?

🧵 Intel Arc A770 flagship Alchemist GPU showcased in Blender’s Cycles with ray tracing

>The upcoming desktop Arc A7 series are not just for gamers, visual 3D artists will also take advantage of the latest graphics architecture.
>Blender Cycles is a render engine with physical based path tracer introduced more than 10 years ago. Over time the rendering pipeline moved from CPU rendering to GPU rendering, now supporting CUDA/OptiX for NVIDIA GPU and OpenCL acceleration for AMD GPUs. The upcoming Blender 3.3 LTS update will also bring Cycles of rendering for Intel’s oneAPI, allowing Intel GPUs, such as the Arc Alchemist to take advantage of their own architecture.
>At SIGGRAPH 2022 Bob Duffy (Intel Director Graphics Community Engagement) showcased an Intel Tiger Lake based system running Blender Cycles with raytracing and live denoising running on Arc A770 GPU. A NUC 11 Extreme featuring Intel 11th Gen Core KB-series CPU has been used here, although it was long expected that NUC 12 Extreme is to be paired with Arc A-series once they become available.
>Just recently, Intel announced its Arc A50 and A40 GPUs for professional work. These cards were designed for raytracing acceleration, machine learning and video encoding, but both are based on ACM-G11 GPU, the low-end Alchemist GPU. It is very likely that we will see the ACM-G10 based Arc PRO model later, but for the sake of the SIGGRAPH demo, the gaming variant was used.
>Intel Arc A770 features full ACM-G10 GPU with 32 Xe-Cores and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. This graphics card is confirmed to be the flagship model of the Alchemist desktop series and has already been showcased in a few games running modern APIs. Unfortunately Intel has not confirmed when this card will become available and at what price. The company did confirm that the Limited Edition which was used for this Blender demo will be sold globally through official webstore and select partners.

It would be better to simply model it all in 3D rather then playing with the 2D cancer.

Anyontre tried it?
I'm learning the whole gamedeving pipeline (as a solo dev so I need to cut everything I can cut) and I recently saw a dev that was using it and he really sold it to me as well as the presentation videos.
I'm planning to use it as a character animation tool for a fast paced 3d games.
Anyone who actually animate it can tell me about his experience before I dwelve myself into the tutorials ?

>Lucked into my first 3D artist job in a small advertising company, wasn't even applying for that
>It's been almost two years now, we rarely do the same thing twice, but three things come up often: Shading/texturing, simulations and environments
>Not much modeling, unless we have to make something very specific or simple (we often have to fix meshes we bought, though)
>We use Blender for everything, and maybe a bit of Photoshop for textures and Fusion for compositing
As you read this, you may ne telling yourself, ''This blendlet can barely model and has almost no experience, if he loses his job he's fucked'', and I would agree with you on that. So what would be the best course of action for someone in my situation to be more employable? I have a few ideas, but I'd like to know your opinions.
Quick note, I'm also a decent video editor and dabbled in compositing and motion design

I'm using the normal edit modifier with the sphere as a target, but the normals aren't moving. Also there are edge normals and face normals, the normal edit modifier does not specify which normals I'm editing (or not, since the modifier does not seem to work)

Why isn't this talked about more? Realistic self collision. Or as they call it "implicit skinning"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyO
There's only this one video with 64k views. All the other videos on the topic have less than a thousand views. And this was showcased back in 2014. Why is no one making something like this in Blender? Why don't people what better self collision methods? Everyone wants to talk about weight painting and softbody. As if weight painting doesn't have a ton of limitations. And as if softbody isn't a janky mess. It's like I'm taking crazy pills. Where's the implicit skinning?
