what chemical is best for preserving food and other organics, edibility is not the goal
my first thought was formaldehyde, but it would most likely evaporate, give me cancer, and destroy the local environment
are there any others that will preserve a food in the open for a few years, without causing a chemical incident

Would you be willing to go on the first maned trip to a terrestrial body in our solar system if you weren't guaranteed to make it back, but if you made it back you would be one of the most famous humans of all time? And which would you prefer? Mars? Ceres? Mercury? Titan? Eris?

I believe entirely dismissing phrenology as a pseudoscience is more because of the sociopolitical implications of it, rather than because it is objectively false. I think there's some truth in it after all, as anthropology regularly discusses a correlation between cranial space and average IQ in different populations.

Is the process of abacus acquiring intelligence(GAI) described anywhere? What are the requirements as far as the minumum number of beads, speed, etc?

Hi, i'm studying pic related. Right now i'm getting filtered by the proof of equivalency of the tangent space. Basically i want to show that defining T_pM as a space of derivations and defining T_pM as a quotient space by an equivalence relation of curves is the same. Diff geometry brainlets will understand. Any tips about understanding better this subject?

One question for my fellow /sci/entists, what is your favourite philosopher?
For me, it's Schopenhauer. He just gets the world better than anyone else. It's no wonder he was the main philosophical influence to many physicists in the 20th century.

If I want to heat a metal coil with some magic electricity juice, with the highest efficiency, should I start low wattage and move to higher, or just leave it on the higher wattage? The issue I'm considering is the higher resistance a coil will have at lower temperatures, so would adding more wattage increase that resistance?
