š§µ pain receptors and extreme sports
Anonymous at Wed, 28 Feb 2024 15:07:40 UTC No. 188733
Are pain receptors necessary for sports, specially extreme sports? I technology and medicine keeps advancing, and humans become able to stop feeling pain or major suffering: would life-risking, martial combat, or endurance\adventure sports become obsolete? Or will they be much more enjoyable? What say you, whats the future of IRL \xs\ at the rate bio-tech and medical enhancements are improving and growing?

Why do ufc fights end as soon as someone starts getting punched on the ground?
That's like stopping a movie right at the climax

š§µ What do you think of bringing One dehydration rules to the UFC?
Anonymous at Sun, 25 Feb 2024 23:40:14 UTC No. 188355
Pros
>nobody would die of dehydratation (so far it hasn't happened in the UFC though)
>no fights would be called off because of too harsh dehydration (it has actually happened)
>performance of fighters would be slightly better
Cons:
>more fighters might be unable to make weight and some fights might be called off because of it
Also, it may require changes in weightclasses. Current LHWs wouldn't be able to cut to LHW so they would need additional 225 lbs class to avoid fighting much bigger guys. Giants like Derrick Lewis wouldn't be able to make 265 so the limit in HW should be abolished or moved up. Same with current woman's featherweights who might need a 155 class.

>start sparring on foot rather than on knees
>give -2 points for guard pulling in competitions
>Legalize slams for brown and black belts. And if you're scared to do it, instead ban jumping guard.
>legalize heel hooks for brown and black belts in gi, just like you did in no gi

HOWEVER, wrestling and diving were! i dont get it, we think that roller derby is considered extreme, especially to those standards. shit aint fair. (mind you, roller derby was considered, just not put on. its not like they didnt know we existed.)
