What are your opinions of AutoDesk products & their competitors in the building industry? Does anyone do drafting & modelling better than the AutoDesk products, like Civil3D & Revit?

I started working as a structural drafter at the beginning of this year, so most of my experience has been with Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM360, etc, for modelling. I'm hoping to learn 12D in the future, which is the primary Civil modelling product used in Australia.

Hello. I'm currently looking for a new laptop that can run maya well. I'm looking for something that can smoothly run 3d animation, 3d modeling, renders (mainly arnold), and nparticle sims (such as bifrost fluid sims). It needs to also be able to run Unreal engine smoothly at decent settings.

I am aware that Maya uses many single-core operations with the exception of Bifrost sims and 3d renders which use as many cores as you can throw at them.

The specs are:

CPU: intel core i7-10700 (non k)

GPU: NVIDIA rtx 2070 super

RAM: 32 gigs

Storage: ssd, possibly RAID 0

For a little more context, the i7-10700 has 8 cores clocked at 2.9 GHz (up to 4.8 with intel turbo) and 16 threads.

I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask but I appreciate any help :)

Hello guys i had a question about animation that i was confused about. If 24 fps looks choppy in a video game why doesnt it look choppy when pixar does their movies in 24fps? I know they're different but i cant understand how. Do they animate the movies at 24fps? Im so confused. Thank you in advance.

Next Gen was a neat example, and the Open Movies by the Blender foundation were okay too, but it needs more proof.

I don't want to rely on Autodesk and Houdini or Cinema 4D to make CG shit.
