🗑️ 🧵 Woke Proffesor Fabricates Research to Justify Ending Advanced STEM Classes

Anonymous No. 16089666

A story that combines the replication crisis/academic fraud with current political debates about equity, inclusion, antisemitism, conspiracy theories and related issues:
one of the top scholars on childhood STEM education in the world seems to have been misquoting, misrepresenting, and outright fabricating large portions of her research.

Who is she? Jo Boaler is a woke neoliberal professor who works at Stanford. She is one of the leading authorities on STEM education in the world, and she has been at the forefront of the modern push to standardize education, eliminate advanced STEM classes, reduce access to self-directed and independent study, and elimiinate personalized curriculum and elective. Basically, the woke leftist want ALL the student in the nation to be learning exactly the same material, with exactly the same textbooks, at exactly the same level. If you read her research, she unironically advocates for focusing on basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication for the ENTIRETY of elementary school. She wants to hold of on any algebraic reasoning until middle school and high school. The rationale behind this is that woke leftists like Jo boaler want all the students to be on the "same page", as they say. They want to make sure students in the public education system are being taught similar material in a similar manner so that some students don't have an unfair advantage, and they don't want to give students the false impression that you can "do your own research". They want to standardize education so that everyone learns the same material, and they want students to understand that learning is about being an "informed citizen" and knowing how to trust experts and seek out authoritative sources and information.

Well, it turns out this woke neolib professor was actually fabricating her research. It's all bullshit. She was basically just flat out lying in an effort to provide false support to her woke neoliberal approach to STEM education.

🧵 Is humanity staring at post-technological age?

Anonymous No. 16089614

>Theoretical Maths hasn't seen any major innovation since 1930s
>Theoretical Physics has largely been stuck since 1960s
>All possible philosophical ideas have been explored
>No major revolution in how society and economy interact since 1900s
>Both energy and population growth are no longer exponential due to this

I could give many many more minor examples but overall, 'theories' in any subject have seen little to no change since the 1930s-1950s, their practical applications peaked in 2000s. As a result human society as a whole seem to be 'stuck', lives in developed countries aren't any radically different to what they were in 1970s, and for developing countries the 2000s.

Is humanity on the whole staring at a post-technological age where society will not evolve for hundreds of years? I mean this is the default human experience, for most of our 10000 year history, we saw rapid bursts of change followed by long duration of stagnation.

>inb4 muh AI, AGI, Crypto, Blockchain meme

Yeah lets keep this discussion serious. Of course space the next frontier but to me it seems 'Space age' will have comparatively little impact on earth and while humanity as a whole may 'grow', humanity on earth seems to be destined to be stuck at wherever we are now. Life on earth 800 years from now will not appear too different from life today, just like life in 1200s paris, wasn't to different from life in 700s paris.

🧵 Great Filter

Anonymous No. 16089551

Why is the concept of the Great Filter always phrased and explained in terms of a static obstacle or a singular inflection point in time (like a bunch of nuclear bombs going off), when the closest thing we've seen to a Great Filter is humanity's total inability to deal with hyperobjects (such as: climate change, globalist capitalism, plastic pollution, the destruction of biodiversity and ecosystems, etc etc), which cover both massive physical space and very long durations of time. Wouldn't the Great Filter most likely be a hyperobject, such as the Sun's lifespan and eventual death, killing all life in the solar system?
