Would there be any possibility of using this ( sourceforge.net/projects/ushock/ ) to somehow get unreal levels to load on our opensource engine (It's in C, but it's very C++ like)? ( sourceforge.net/projects/chaosesqueanthology/ ) (darkplaces fork)

I looked at the code and it looks insane daunting (your viewer), how did you make it?
In our engine one just goes to model_brush.c adds a file handler, and then model_shared and points to that handler. But this one is so involved.

It's like wheels within wheels and we'd never beable to ever adapt it. :(
Since we don't have it in our head.

The best we were able to do recently is get obj files working as proper maps.

hey guys so for the past few months the idea of sculpting / being a 3D artist is really glamorous for me but I've a few questions as I'm a complete noob
1-can I make a good career of it ?
2-what are the possibilities of landing a remote work? because I'm in a country where any form of being a 3D artist is considered a dead end since there is no market for it here
3-should I even bother learning if I intend to teach myself using tutorials etc..
4-what budget display tablet should I buy ?
5-can my PC(GTX 970/6700K/Ram16G) handle the software I'm going to use like zbrush/blender ?

I want to create animations like the new aphex twin music video with all the dynamic aspects (lighting, textures, topographies, camera motion, etc). Does anybody know what I can use to achieve this? I am 100% new to 3d stuff and I don't even know if this is the appropriate place to ask. Should I learn blender? Thank you very much in advance.

Best torrent sources/sites 2023 to obtain 3DCG software for design: AUTOCAD, INVENTOR, REVIT, SKETCHUP, 3DSMAX, SOLIDWORKS etc. etc.

All of the above are easy to download in trail version but you cant learn from Youtube tutorials for example since every trailversion out there is with not even half of the original softwares functionality.

Also: best way to download and eventually crack/keygen/other option the software to make it function like it should work (full) for professionals.

Hi, recently .. we... programmed better obj support into .. our... opensource 3d game. IE made it so they could very easily be used as the world map, not just static meshes added to it.

So I scoured sketchfab and downloaded the handful of unreal 1 and other 3d level maps (half life too) obj conversions.

And they're fun.

Now I want more.
It's so satisfying just putting the obj file in as .basescale1.loadstyle1.obj_from_mc map. It's so easy.

But I got all the sketchfab ones.
And no one converted DM-Radikus or any of the other cool Unreal1 maps to obj :(

Anyone have any obj file maps I can enjoy?
After working on the engine I've been adding helper code to the game code, so you can tell the map which textures are ladders etc, set the height of the sky if it's too close, all kinds of things. Bullet penetration was coded correctly now so the maps feel solid

>Note: the native formats of the engine are bsp (Q1, Q3) and I added Wolfenstine:Enemy Territory and now Obj as map (before it would just crash and have other problems)
