The fact we went from the Wright Flyer to the Lunar Landing in 66 years is really phenomenal. Even going from the Wright Flyer to the F-22 Raptor is mind blowing. What gave humans the ability to advance so quickly? Was there one particular moment in time or invention that slingshot us in that trajectory?

After that amount is found what is the safest extra amount of people to have incase of natural disaster or disease etc? Can anyone figure out what this is supposed to mean? For those who haven't read Ender's Shadow: Bean is a young genius in a space battle school. He's tired from constant battle practice in this scene.
The equation is easily solvable with algebra and doesn't have any significance in any field. I genuinely have no clue what Orson was going for here.

What do you think about this idea for a starship engine the engine has a gravity based drive which works by increasing its own density in order to navigate to denser or lesser dense targets the fuel required would therefore be constant rather than proportional to the distance travelled

🧵 Why do the colors of the sky change under this rainbow?
Anonymous at Fri, 19 Apr 2024 17:24:35 UTC No. 16136098
So this afternoon (around 18:30) i took a picture of this amazing view of a complete rainbow (if you look well enough you can even see the moon between the first and the second one).
When i looked at the photo i noticed that the color of the sky changes a lot over and under the rainbow. I've never seen (or noticed?) something like this.
What is even stranger is the fact that the sun was setting on the opposite side of the sky, so you would expect the sky's colours to get gradually darker when approaching the horizon under the rainbow. But this picture depicts the opposite: they are brighter under the bow and darker over it

Hey faggots. I just got finished studying some category theory, now time for some serious Haskell programming. How do we get more women interesting in S.T.E.M.? I think rape culture is to blame. Maybe hiring more female professors will help. Anyway I’m glad to see Homotopy Type Theory gaining traction. It’s a better and more satisfying foundation than ZFC, and is generally more friendly to GLBT folks and has very little rape culture or toxic masculinity compared to classical foundations.
I’m quite pleased with the wat things are going in science and around the world. Sexism is on the decline (but still the biggest problem in the world) and we are bringing peace and equality to many toxic Muslim countries. HoTT will supplant ZFC, making universities truly safe spaces for GLBT folks. I think the next ten years are going to be very good for everybody.
