so i skateboard for quite some years now, and i would like to know if anyone who also skates here, about the progress rate on learning new flip tricks, does it really takes so long to learn a new trick any feedback would be great
all those years i've trained on flat on goofy stance i only got like
>ollie, 180 frontside, pop/shove it and kickflip and easier tricks
>double kickflip and i landed one time an heelflip and a 360 shove it with toe drag and some slappy 50-50 grind that are quite harder
and only that for like almost more than 3/4 years of skating should i just stop skating for good and sell it to invest in another sport like even there is some tricks like shove it and 360 shove it that when the shape gets to the shin gets swollen up

Anybody do parkour? I junped off a 18 ft structure several weeks ago on to concrete and then did a roll. Did it 4-5 times and didn't feel anything. Few days after my hip is injured. Been injured since but slowly getting better.
Anybody know any good hip exercises to prevent these injuries?
Also, any parkour anons on the Toronto area?

Sambo is literally Judo but better

can we discuss army martial arts training? For example, I heard a police spec ops officer saying the punches should be thrown with minimun hip in case you would be carrying all the gear on you in order to not destabilize yourself, what other stuff can you tell about it?
Ancient military martial arts too, like blocks, punches and other techniques from chinese or japanese arts looking retarded only if you do them without armor on you

Question to all you HEMA and martial arts fags out there.
I'm designing a rpg/standalone arena combat system, and my autism compels me to make as detailed hit location/armor system as possible. In the current version I've toyed around with your hit location profile changing based on the fighting style and stance you assume. So in certain stances you are more likely to get hit in your arms, while in others you might get hit more in your legs for example.
Is this even remotely accurate to reality? Do practitioners of one martial art suffer noticeably different injuries when compared to practitioners of another martial art? What about weapons? I know the obvious difference between bladed weapons and blunt weapons, but do you try to strike at different locations with different weapons?

Been training and competed in Muay Thai for 7 years now and have recently become interested in Lethwei. I have struggled to find to find any form of Lethwei gym outside of Myanmar and imo the situation over there does no seem ideal for foreigners atm. Does anybody have any pointers on ways to get into training Lethwei? or ideally gyms that could help me get a fight eventually?

Which fighting systems incorporate or even focus on the use of knives? Why aren't knife fighting martial arts more popular and well known? Considering that dagger/knife techniques would have been extremely common in self defense applications before the advent of pistols, I'm surprised it isn't more common especially in HEMA.
