🧵 dirty fighting

Anonymous No. 178945

What are some strategies for dirtiest fighting ie; a non-sports situation where you need to handicap the opponent?
Of course I mean this ON TOP of doing regular training\sparring, not as a replacement.
I can think of:
>practicing jabs that target the eyes, use a boxing bag and practice eye-pokes
>soccer kick against the shin
>Shouting with full force on opponent's ear during a grapple. might stun him for a few seconds
> Lift strong with the grip so be able to cause tears in opponent's ear lobes or lower lip
>"monkey grabs the peach" . be skillful enough to insert your hand into opponent's pants and try to damage his crotch\benos
>use a dummy or makiwara to practice head-butts, grabbing hair and punching, even scratches if youre fingernails are sturdy

Is transitioning an extreme sport?

The reason that Greco-Roman wrestlers have a straight posture (whereas Freestyle and Folkstyle wrestlers bend) is because holds below the waist are banned. This includes:
>Foot Sweep
>Inside Leg Trip
>Outside Leg Trip
>Ankle Pick
>Knee Pick
>Single Leg Takedown
>Double Leg Takedown
>Fireman's Carry
It would be interesting to create a new sport, like GRW, but place an exception in the rules for certain moves, such as Ankle Pick and Knee Pick, or Fireman's Carry, to see if you could maintain the same posture, while slightly expanding the list of possible moves.

I have shitty hip mobility, thus my round kicks are either slow as hell or lack power
A doctor has diagnosed me with fai. However, I found this upright health channel guy on YouTube who claims that the issue with poor mobility is commonly more about underdeveloped or overtly stiff muscles. I can feel this snapping and popping in my hip joints occasionally, but typically any hip pain I've felt has been at my tendons or muscles.

What have your experiences with fai been like? To me, a long program of stretching and strengthening the hip muscles seems smarter than an expensive surgery.

🧵 tank biathlon: a truly extreme sport

Anonymous No. 178620

"Participating tanks drive a three-lap route of 6–10 km (3.7–6.2 mi). During the first lap, crews fire at tank-size targets positioned at distances of 1,600 m (5,200 ft), 1,700 m (5,600 ft), and 1,800 m (5,900 ft) (crews aim by optics, without any modern fire-control system). In the second lap, different targets imitating an anti-tank mortar (RPG) squad and an infantry unit are fired upon. These targets are at a distance of 600–700 m (2,000–2,300 ft), and must be engaged with a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun. In the third lap, the tank crews fire at targets shaped like an anti-tank gun and ATGM unit using the turret-mounted heavy machine gun at a distance of 1,200 m (3,900 ft). One or more misses leads to an extra penalty lap 500 m (1,600 ft) long. On the final lap, tanks have to go through various terrain obstacles; an obstacle missed or improperly traversed adds 10 seconds to the crew's final timing."

🧵 The Obesity Meta

Anonymous No. 178523

And after all these years of training in various martial arts, I have just now realized the true meta for all fighting: obesity.

Weighing 300-400 lbs is one of the best advantages one can have in a fight. The sumo wrestler is the most formidable opponent anyone could face.

Fat is like natural armor. Strikes and kicks don't hurt the obese as much as they hurt thin people. I met a guy once (400 lbs or so) who could be hit in the stomach by one of our 190 lb kotokan cho-dans, full force, and not even flinch. It also protects their organs from knife attacks, and possibly even small caliber rounds.

In wrestling and bjj, they are practically immovable. Like wrestling an atlas stone. You need to be 7 feet tall to successfully pull guard. If they get a top position, you are already dead-- they put all their weight on you, and it is impossible to move or breathe. If you've ever been pinned by a person in your weight class, you know how exhausting it can be. The obese man is far worse to be under.

Their necks are so thick that choking is very difficult, especially if you don't have long arms. They are immune to all judo hip throws, and their fat bellies keep you at sufficient distance such that you can't do leg wraps or double leg takedowns. You can try to foot sweep them but even this is risky, as their weight is so immense that you can barely control where they might fall.

"Oh, just aim for the face!"
They have a protection sphere of obesity around them that prevents you from getting close to them. It's like a huge bubble of forced distance. If you are within striking distance of their face, you are well within their grasp.

"Just move around!"
The obese are less easily exhausted than they are made out to be on TV. They can put up a fight for a decent amount of time. A trained fatty will probably even outperform an untrained 200 lb man.

how do snowboarders tell the difference between a bad front nose blunt and a bad front lip?

i could ask this question a few different ways, but this is the example that made me think about it and i've noticed snowboarders don't really do nose/tail slides as often.

the difference is obvious when either trick is performed well (the rail is either centered on the board or beyond the binding) but what happens when the binding is directly over the rail? (like i often see when people claim blunts, and what often happens to ME when i try to board/lip slide)

does the difference even matter since if you can't tell the difference you didn't do it well enough?

The cops were kind enough to provide her email too.
