/3/ isn't full of artists so you get a low quality of bucket crabs here. You're stuck between wage cucks who aspire to be flagship human printers for someone else's vision and wannabe coders who settled for rigging. They're like mutts. They can't identify with either blacks or white, as much as they want to with the former but are rejected by both. Don't expect much from a handful of uncreative people who start acting out because the cabin fever from being stuck on a dead board is getting to them. The rest were groomed onto Discord and spend more time involved in ERPing and drama than they are with modeling (another dysfunctional online community defined by perpetual server balkanization and art gains goblins)
Simply put /ic/'s motto is "draw don't stop nigger leave for awhile this board and just draw even if call you shit and start trying define what is objective truth I'm a literal who on an asian genes boat ride weaving tour so just draw... nigger."
Like American, /3/ just a soulless space with some chimps that only want to demoralize you. The de facto /beg/ colony here called WIP should just make their way home over to the comfier board.

Why are some people on this board so stupid? Personally, I think it's all of the hobbyists running around on here. What I want to know is: How many people here are industrychads, and how many people here are hobbycucks?

Hello, I really wanted to ask you what you think about the demand and salaries currently in the 3d industry, everyone in practically any profession says that their career is oversaturated as well as anyone in the 3d industry, as far as I know, really saturated jobs maybe would be Web Development, Data Entry or Digital Marketing, do you really consider that the 3d industry is as saturated as the ones mentioned above?

>UV unwrap or whatever with the surface I want to project it onto
>Turn up the number of frames in the image texture node
>Still won't play past the 100th frame
>Dimensions look all fucked up even though the surface is the right size
And when I make it an image sequence, then it doesn't play all the frames and I get fucking pink error frames. This is so gay. Even Natron is better at reading video and it's absolutely broken software. Pic unrelated.

🧵 Review of crocotyle 3D
Anonymous at Fri, 3 Jun 2022 20:50:16 UTC No. 901283
Today I spend 25 usd on more gamedev tools.
And just bought crocotyle 3D, is pretty good for what it is, is basically the rpg maker tile map editor but in 3D.
And yes, crocotyle is much much better than sprityle, which I also bought.
And also is much much better than blender at being a 3D Tile map editor.
So yes, I'm very happy with it, and clearly see it as now part of my mandatory indiedev tools and clearly already part of my AAA next gen indie retro objectively superior indiedev workflow.
Yes, I'm rich enough to not need to pirate like a dirty povertyfag.

🧵 PCs for Procedural Workflows
Anonymous at Fri, 3 Jun 2022 16:46:49 UTC No. 901263
I'm building a new PC geared towards 3D proceduralism in geometry and shading (Im blendlet though I figure it won't make a huge difference)
My current plan is
>GPU: RTX 3080
>CPU: i5 12600K
I'm contemplating what CPU I should get for smoothest, fastest procedural control. The i5 12600K does well in benchmarks and is reasonably cost effective. But I know i5 doesn't support multithreading. Will multithreading really help me all that much?
The other options seemed like
>AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
>Intel Core i7-12700K.
which are vaguely in similar price range and do have multi-threading capability

Started thinking about making low poly models on last Friday
Watched tutorials and started working on Monday
Today on Friday, it's been 7 days ever since I had to make a low poly model for my videogame
This is today, my best attempt
The result of one hour, yes, this is it, watching a tutorial at the same time but this is it.
This and the head I fucked up and abandoned it once I realized I should have started modeling with a cylinder instead of a cube since I couldn't add extra soaces anymore, too blocky.

🧵 3D for game modding

I've been thinking of learning 3D modelling to build cool assets for games I like, specifically characters and weird/cool guns. Does anyone here have any experience with that?
How long would it take to be able to build assets like firearms rigged for animations and bodies/faces for model swaps?
Is there any recommended software? I started on Blender and it seems to be more popular nowadays, but other tutorias for older games use 3ds Max plenty and have custom scripts/plugins for it.

Talking with a guy on discord, I literally realized something.
My style is not ugly, actually being cheap to make is a huge market advantage.
I literally challenge anyone on /3/ to make something better that this for 10 usd.
Not possible.
This model cost 10 usd to make at 3USD per hour of work.
It's literally impossible being cheaper.

why does transparency alpha clipping in blender never fucking work?
ever.
fucking hate blender, it's so fucking random.
sometimes it will read the alpha and alpha clip without even having to mess with the shader,
sometimes it will correctly do it after messing with the shader nodes and material settings,
sometimes it won't do it no matter how long you tinker with the shaders or material settings.
so fucking tired of thisg arbage.
