My options:
>taekwondo (closest to me. Everything else is 27-30 kilometers away)
>box club
>jiu jutsu (Not brazilian. Does it mean it's inferior?)
>thai boxing (is that the same as muay thai?)
>kickboxing
>Shito ryu karate (is it effective? What's the difference between it and other forms of karate?)
>Wrestling
I think Muay thai is cool because it has tradition and use of 8 limbs but I am not sure how effective it is against normal boxing.

I was born in 89' and growing up if you had an exotic car it meant something. Not just because it looked nice, oh no, that was a coincidence. You were in it for the speed. Fast and the furious was a new way of dialing into that phenomenon. These guys had turbod 4 cylinders and v-6s that could top any exotic car and the common man ate it up. Now we've got electric vehicles that look like Satan himself took a shit on the drag strip eating Bugattis for lunch. An electric style mustang crossover running less than 4 seconds 0-60 can be yours for 20% of what it would cost to own an exotic that's SLOWER. So again I ask, was speed just a cope?

You will hate this but it's true. Especially pugilism and early modern boxing until the 1950s or so.

Here's the idea:
- Judo points system but ippon doesn't end the fight
- submissions and pins score ippon but doesn't end the fight
- ippon only for throws likely causing damage if executed on a hard surface
- Judo or BJJ gi required
- shoes allowed
- win by points when the time runs out
- anyone with any martial arts background can take part
This would be the competition standard that truly considers all 3 grappling disciplines. Wrestlers wouldn't mind if they have to wear a gi. Everyone gets equal chance of scoring points. Why does this not exist already?

Why should we have our weaker hand in front? Not that I'm complaining cause it actually feels natural for me but
Just why?
After all we punch with our forward hand more often than the rear hand so why not make these punches stronger, especially if you're a strong guy so knocking people out with a jab probably isn't impossible for you?

Some say guard pulling is good cause you don't need to waste time on learning takedowns which aren't very useful at BJJ tournaments.
Others say guard pulling is actually a technical move, a part of BJJ and people should stop shitting on it.
But there is one thing that makes guard pulling an uncool move. It doesn't work in MMA, except for some specific situations on the ground. Of course, it's nothing special that different sports have different META but BJJ and MMA are like two sisters, both named Gracie.
