Please help me /3/, complete retard here.
Basically, I just want to fill a hole. Someone keeps embedding their username onto a paid mod and it triggers me greatly.
>remove verticals (see image)
>copy/paste same section from when the mod didn't have username (lots of bugs were fixed, it's why I'm not using the old one)
>doesn't seem to connect properly
Please help, I've been trying all week. I want to learn to fix it myself, because it's still getting updates.

🗑️ 🧵 What's the best course for me learning how to draw stylized textures?

Anonymous No. 943148

I am making a game, I grab my pen tablet and my brain shuts down on how to draw a texture. Like let's say I want to draw the textures for a wooden crate. I want to know what techniques people use when they're doing things like. Let's say you have a street and there's paint on the street. But the paint is washed out. I know I should use a transparent layer for the paint , but when drawing the paint I'm not quite sure wtf do I do in blender to make it look authentic. Like the brushes in blender are just a circle brush? Am I supposed to export the texture in photoshop, use photoshop to draw the texture, then import it back into blender? Am I supposed to partially do textures in blender, then partially do it in photoshop? AM I supposed to ONLY draw the textures in photoshop, then import it into blender without doing any "touch ups". I am looking for a tutorial that shows the workflow for this. When I try to use photoshop only I get stumped because am I supposed to draw the entire texture from scratch? Or am I supposed to use an existing texture, and just add my own touches to it? A tutorial showing people do this start to end will help (especially if it's stylized. I don't want things too realistic looking, since it's anime art style)

Imagine how much better vertex modelling software could be if it was made as intuitive and user-friendly as CAD, instead of just constantly adding obscure features 95% of people will never use while leaving the interface and workflow an arcane mess with important features locked behind ridiculous gimmick shit like geometry nodes

Listen man. I cutout some weird shit in 3D paint on windows to edit some stuff on mage ai. I leaned on my keyboard the yesterday and all of the things i had snipped with mixed reality were all on screen like png's without backgrounds. My wife almost saw my fucked up meanderings. I can't replicate it so i can't guarantee it won't happen again. Please let me know where my cutouts from 3D paint are saved and how I can locate them in order to banish them to the shadow realm.

Should I bother learning Blender if I only care about hard surface? Seems like the whole thing is very much catered to organics and missing incredibly basic shit that'd be useful for hard surface like parallel/centerpoint/tangent constraints and extrude cutting. Maybe you could do some of that with the geometry nodes or whatever but I don't want to drag little boxes around like I'm programming in fucking Scratch to do something CAD software does with a single button.
Is there some trick to making hard surface tolerable in Blender or do most people only use it for organics and then some other software for anything else?
To clarify, I already know a bit of CAD, I'm looking to learn a software better for game models and renders.

🧵 3D tech is basically mostly an outdated field now.

Anonymous No. 943030

All my entire knowledge of 3D and blender is now obsolete.

I only need to make a really crappy low poly render, feed it into img2img, and hours and days of 3D work are now saved.

This is great, but man, I feel everything I spend so much time learning is osbolete.

Render engines are basically obsolete now.

How to Photogrammetry with mismatched photos?

I'm restoring an antique machine. There's a broken part on it. I can't find a replacement. I can find a lot of photos online of the complete machine with the part I need.

I was thinking about masking out every aspect of the image except for the part, and then clamping everything to grayscale. I didn't want to go down that rabbit hole if it was a futile effort.

Also stupid questions thread.

Should anatomy be critiqued by someone who has not done a single piece of finished work? No offense but I think some people like talking out of their asses all the time even if their intentions are good-willed. Anatomy is hard to master yet very easy to nitpick even by beginners who can't keep their ego in check.

Imported daz mesh to blender, there I unpacked the textures. Converted to fbx.
In Substance Painter I add the fbx file. Add resources, some of the textures I've unpacked but they don't show up in SubstancePainter. I've dragged them as you can see in rightmost lower corner...
