🗑️ 🧵 You SHOULD be Practicing Systema
Anonymous at Sun, 2 Jul 2023 10:49:13 UTC No. 154361
It is superior to all your worthless styles
>Developed by the russian cossacks and their christian orthodox descendants on the BATTLEFIELD over thousands of years. Never Conquered
> Teaches the body to completely relax and adapt to any possible combat situation in the most effective way
>Literally taught to russian spetnaz and assasins alongside Sambo
>If you read miyamoto musashis (Objectively the greatest japanese warrior in history) books and read vagabond and know anything about Systema you will see stark similarities
>It's the only western martial art that addresses one's mental state for lethal combat and teaches you to properly react and think under pressure
>It's so dangerous it has to be that it has to be trained slow and playfully
>Unlike meme krav maga, It doesnt rely on pre-taught techniques and dumb aggressive mentality, It teaches the opposite. First nature fluidity and calmness under pressure.
> The entire art is modeled in a way that would be ideal for non-telegraphic ancient assasin that wanted to get close to a political leader and take him out by relaxing his body and dissolving tension that not even the best bodyguards could detect.
>hones sensitivity and awareness to superhuman level with playful exercise
>Professional fighters and their sparring partners have straight up attested to ryabko and vladmirs (The World proponents of the system) efficacy and scariness in combat
You all should be practicing it

What are your thoughts on bare knuckle fighting? Watching it a bit and even though it's more entertaining (imo) it makes me worried a bit for the fighters on long term damage. Curious to see what you guys think.

Done rolling with fat people.
Fat guy fucking hit me straight in the eye for literally no reason other than moving his arm over my head. Full speed reverse karate chop he said. Then he said the eye is really resilient. Not even a sorry. I believe it's because fat people have far worse proprioception due to how fat they are.
When you mount them you can't even post with your knees because they're so fucking fat. When they mount you they just lay on you and you have to get their excessive sweat all over your face and body.
🧵 JUDO isn't shit
DOLO_16 at Sat, 1 Jul 2023 09:13:19 UTC No. 154214
Judo always gets flack for being "useless in a streetlight" and not being represented in MMA or ADCC a lot. it may have an limited focus on ground techniques compared to BJJ but, Judo already have all of the basic and fundamentals of ground work in Kosen Judo unlike kodokan Judo. But besides that I would say that judo is better for self defense then bjj for its strong emphasis on standup throws and takedowns. But also the Gi's in judo could be great stand-in for shirts and pants. Also BJJ is from Judo with the creator of judo Kano Jigoro teaching Mitsuyo Maeda then later teaching Carlos Gracie Jr. slowly branding their style of judo into modern bjj that we know.

>Japan’s national lacrosse team is one of the top five in the world
>Unlike most other nations who field many American dual citizens, their team consists solely of natural-born Japanese players
>And there are no youth programs in Japan, these dudes don’t start playing until college
>They are also third overall in Olympic-style lacrosse (6v6 as opposed to 10v10, smaller fields)
Anime-anons, is this something that anyone in your country is even aware of?

🧵 I think we need something between judo and bjj
Anonymous at Thu, 29 Jun 2023 23:48:01 UTC No. 153911
It should
>have a gi and no gi version, not try to convince everyone that the gi version is absolutely necessary and rather keep it for passionates
>have leg takedowns and leglocks
>not have unnecessary weird shit like gogoplata
>spend 40% of the time on lerning takedowns and 60% of the time on learning groundfighting so that it would be stronger on the ground than judo and not pop out buttscooters who don't know shit about takedowns like bjj
>maybe have a combat version with striking, mostly grappling oriented striking like setting up takedowns and ground£

I just learned that you can do paragliding without a motor
Of course you cant rise upwards but you can glide down a hill/mountain
To get to my question : Can I just buy a chute on the internet and get on going ?
There's a pretty big hill close to me and I think it would be a great place to run off from
Not trying to get crazy fast just geting 15-20 seconds of air time would be fun enough
Do you need special wind conditions to do this ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPr
I'm thinking of something like in the video but the hill is a bit bigger
It's a popular spot for rc planes and there's a strip for glider and motor glider planes nearby

In another thread an anon admitted he doesn't compete. I've seen many threads where anons with strong opinions admit to not even having trained.
It makes me curious about the makeup of this board. Are we all top 10 LHW UFC champs? Or martial larpers?
ITT, please list:
1) If you currently train, and if so, in what?
2) Do you train in a gym, or are you self taught?
3) Have you competed/fought? If so, in what?

Found a sanda class with a good teacher and a decent tournament team that I'm thinking of joining. The thing that makes me hesitate is majority of the class are teens 13 and up(who are very skilled) and only a hand full of adults. Would it still be worth joining being a 30 year old?

The Great Outdoors edition:
Outdoorsy? Nah, they just don't make buildings with rock gardens and flow trails in them
FAQ on buying a bike that nobody reads anyway:
> What good bike can I get for under $500?
a stolen bike. Possibly a newer used entry level hardtail but don't expect it to survive rock gardens, jumps, or drops. Or an older mtb which won't be as good as newer ones and will still have a front derailleur, but it'll be good enough.
> What good bike can I get for under $1000
Good used hardtail, new entry level hardtail
> What good bike can I get for under $2000?
New Hardtail, decent used full suspension
> What good bike can I get for under $3000?
Used full suspension, decent entry level full suspension but prepared to put more money into it.
> What are the excellent value brands?
Marin, Commencal, Canyon, Polygon, YT, Propain, Kona, and many more. Sometimes the expensive brands have an excellent value bike
> What are the differences between an XC, Trail, Enduro, and Downhill bikes?
XC bikes are for going up fast, go down not as fast. Trail bikes are for going up and down. Enduro bikes are for going down fast, and slower up. Downhill bikes are for going down really fast, needs a ski lift, truck, or the rider pushing it to go up.
