Let's just say I want to make an anime girl doll with moving parts and patent it.
Where can I find anything that's MIT or some other actually permissive license.

🧵 Is it possible to change an object's materials per render layer in Blender's EEVEE?

Like, for example, have a cube render red in layer 1 but blue in layer 2?
My current setup is to make a copy of the cube, give it a new material, parent it to the original, and separate them out into different collections which will be rendered solely by their respective layers. This is slow and tedious and basically multiplies the poly count of a scene by two or three. Fine for cubes but less so for characters and buildings.

Hey, I'm looking to upgrade from my GTX 1660 super.
I'm not really that into playing video games anymore so I'm honestly looking to go for a Quadro card to focus more on gamedev/ animations/ video rendering/ AI etc etc.
Is it worth going for a Quadro card instead of an RTX 4070Ti?
What specs would you guys recommend me if I'm going to render stuff at 1080p. I've never bought Quadro cards before so help me out.

How to do modular clothing in games while not destroying the performance? Having a seperate material for each piece obviosuly wont work because my character has - head, body, hair, jacket, shirt, vest, pants, shoes, hat - thats 9 materials for 1 character.
Packing everything is fine only if you are making low res game, otherwise each piece only holds fraction of the texture set space which will make it look blurry.
How to approach this?

Ai wont take all your jobs. You are panicking for no good reason. All it does is maybe speed up production but you still need artists to do the work.

So you AI bros are saying we'll be getting THIS (for 2D) but in 3D - soon? But, the rub is, like in this example, we wont be able to train our own models, so we wont get the styles we want, making it useless?

I'm working on a short film in 3D, but have no experience with making 3D models. Are custom made 3D models expensive? I would need 3D models of two actors in costumes, possibly already rigged.

I need to create a short demo that resembles of those old Myst-like point and click games, specially the ones that let the player rotate the camera by 360 degrees, so not exactly like Myst, more like Amerzone or the odl Dracula games, using 360 degree 3DCG artworks made by me in Blender. >muh true art
>Muh ai aided art is soulless
Why are most people so narrow-minded? In the same way you're calling ai tools soulless you could call 3D rendering soulless. It's like calling a hammer and chisel soulless because the sculptor isn't using their bare hands to carve the stone. This shit is so obvious, how can you not see it? Are you so emotionally invested in your current worldview as to be left behind by new innovations rather than adapting to them? Aren't artists supposed to be the open-minded ones ready to propel forward the culture and methods of expression?

Yes, Secret Invasion’s opening credits scene is AI-made — here’s why
>>“When we reached out to the AI vendors, that was part of it — it just came right out of the shape-shifting, Skrull world identity, you know? Who did this? Who is this?” Selim says.‘It just came right out of the shape-shifting, Skrull world identity’
>>Selim was excited by what Method Studios brought to the show: “It felt explorative and inevitable, and exciting, and different.”
