🧵 Palm strikes or punches? General /psopg/
Anonymous at Wed, 16 Nov 2022 15:45:05 UTC No. 125047
3rd times the charm, mods please delete the other thread as it has once again turned into a two-man hay fire and completely derailed from the original subject which is very disappointing. I am not trying to spam or troll on here, I am genuinely curious as to which is the greater form of striking and WHY with ANY kind of evidence. Thank you for your patience and understanding, /xs/ and /xs/ staff.

🧵 Sparring is easy
Anonymous at Wed, 16 Nov 2022 02:56:52 UTC No. 124991
I can't believe how fucking easy sparring is. Literally just walk into them swinging as fast as possible with all of your weight and they can't do shit, it's like making someone fight the back of a UHAUL truck. I was sparring this 6'1, 39-year-old Muay Thai Marital Artist and all I did was just push into him while throwing over heads and occasional headbumps, elbows and sometimes a knee. It lasted all of it 4 minutes before we both kind of gassed and classed ended, but this has now forever cemented that sparring is incredibly easy. I've done plenty of other 'sparring' like Randori in Judo, but THIS has now made the impression that fighting is easy and it's 90% mental hesitation from pain.

I almost died in my wingsuit yesterday- AMA
>Ominous feeling a few days leading up to First flight course
>30th bday is next week
>dads bday is the day of the flight course
>had to buy a bigger and more aggressive wingsuit than I should be flying as a student because my body is Fat.zip
>dreaming of flatspinning and dying
>cant sleep for a few nights
>day of FFC finally comes
>ask instructor "how many people have you had flat spin on their first jump?"
>"oh zero dude- I have never seen it you will be fine"
>in plane
>momsspaghetti
>exit
>exit was actually pretty good, I correct my heading and start doing "practice pulls" so I know where my handle is
>first practice goes badly, didnt feel handle and went head down
>next 2 practice pulls were equally as bad
>thisisit.tif
>make final turn and keep flying the suit
>5500 feet- time to pull for real
>reach for handle
>do NOT close leg wing
>immediately go head down
>aighimmaheadout.jpg
>cant find handle
>4000 feet
>suit pressurizes from the airspeed, I now know where my handle it but I can't physically reach it because of how much air pressure is in the suit
>reach hard as fuck
>flatspin initiated
>3000 feet
>now spinning on my back, head down
>dads b day
>screaming in my helmet I rip my cutaway handle and reserve
>reserve pilot chute comes up between my legs
>instantly my reserve inflates and snatches my shoulders up under my legs, cracking every bone in my back in the resulting backflip
>I look up still seeing stars- no twists it's good
>then
>*beep beep* my alarm says
>1400 feet.
>time to begin my landing pattern

The Ipl and its consequences have been a disaster for the Indian cricket They
have greatly increased the revenue of those , who play in that league , but
they have destabilized cricket have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to
indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering and have inflicted severe damage on the cricket world. The continued development of this type of league will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in India..

One of the best I've seen.
You may think you've had a bad day but at least you didn't have Yan attacking you for 5 rounds straight.

How would you train a bunch of guys if they had to compete in a weeks time, but have unlimited budget and facilties.
5 guys, some basic knowledge (near end of whitebelt level), but very fit/athletic.
Ruleset: 5m round, nogi, submissions/hold down wins fight, no lower body locks.
Thats not the situation I am in, but I am in a very similar one.
My plan:
>Train how not to get injured first (breakfalls, basic defensive position (tuck neck, etc))
>50% learning, 50% just rolling (either from standing or from positions that we were just learning in)
>Work backwards from finishing the fight;
>Submissions
>then hold-downs/dominant positions
>guard/turtle/other stalemate positions
>Standing takedowns/throws (may not get time)
>arm fighting/initiation (may not get time)
>do a single rehersal with proper format so they have the feeling of a real match with a referee enforcing rules, have someone record said match
>1-2 days before tournament, no real rolling, maybe some soft rolling but a lot of going through the recorded videos, showing more techniques, questions/answers, stretching/recovery, looking at what good fighters for each persons weight/height do (analyzing matches of real fighters)
>all training is done with warmup consisting of a lot of breakfalls and working on wrestling stance/step (as well as other normal shit like short runs)
anyone got any suggestions? anything retarded im doing?
and no I can't just roid them up.

What I find the most amazing about the F1 is how they accelerate. You go from 218 mph to 62 mph in less than three seconds. I wonder what that would feel like.
