🧵 Dirty fighting

Anonymous No. 142680

Thread about everything that's banned from UFC and using random objects as weapons. Guns don't count.

You can discuss if there is any haram in street a fight, how to use dirty techniques effectively, examples of practical usage of them from your life.
Yu can also post fights ended by cool moves like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Atpk_FBsuZE&pp=ygUXQ29jYWluZSBDaGFybGllIHZzIGFkYW0%3D

I used it once when I was 12. I fought against other 12 yo kid. He got me in clinch and was stabbing my back with a sharp stick (not as sharp as a knife but about as sharp as a fork). I bit his face and he ran away. I also know someone who stopped a charging bully by throwing a stone at his head.

🗑️ 🧵 Secret methods

Anonymous No. 142297

Westerners like to laugh about Asians keeping their training methods secret, but they are doing it themselves.
Even regarding boxing champions who have long since ended their careers, actual workout routines are almost impossible to come by: Only stories and tall tales are known, like Rocky Marciano's 30 pull ups or Tyson's super high rep bodyweight exercises.
Foreman, according to himself, did some push ups, some basketball skipping drills, chopped wood and spent the rest of the workout beating on the heavy bag, with sparring relegated to the weekends - in his prime at least. Sadly, not all champions are that generous with information.

Why is this? When your career is over, you should just tell people what you did exactly.

🧵 How dangerous are knees, elbows and headbutts?

Anonymous No. 142291

Headbutts are banned for all MMA fighters, elbows and knees to the head are banned for all amateur fighters and elbows and knees to the body are banned for least experienced amateur fighters. Does it make sense, considering that punches and kicks, even to the head, are legal on all levels?

🧵 How is he a good fighter?

Anonymous No. 142268

I train kickbox but thing that buggles me is how people like this guy are good fighter. Look at his stance posture and the way he fights, how does he manage to be still such a dangerous foe. I ain't saying he isn't a good fighter I just don't get it what separates him from casuals when he is doing everything simply but still strongly. His hands aren't even up but still doesn't get punished for it?

🧵 /MTB/ Mountain biking general

Anonymous No. 142183

Riding in MUD is for based individuals only edition

FAQ on buying a bike that nobody reads anyway:
> What good bike can I get for under $500?
a stolen bike. Possibly a newer used entry level hardtail but don't expect it to survive rock gardens, jumps, or drops. Or an older mtb which won't be as good as newer ones and will still have a front derailleur, but it'll be good enough.
> What good bike can I get for under $1000
Used hardtail
> What good bike can I get for under $2000?
New Hardtail
> What good bike can I get for under $3000?
Used full suspension
> What are the excellent value brands?
Marin, Commencal, Canyon, Polygon, YT, Propain, Kona, and many more. Sometimes the expensive brands have an excellent value bike
> What are the differences between an XC, Trail, Enduro, and Downhill bikes?
XC bikes are for going up fast, go down not as fast. Trail are bikes are for going up and down. Enduro bikes are for going down fast, and slower up. Downhill bikes are for going down really fast, needs a ski lift, truck, or the rider pushing it to go up.

🧵 Help me with my own martial arts style(?)

Anonymous No. 141919

Lurking /xs/ for the first time since its inception and I'm pretty please with the board, very comfy.

So, here's the deal. I've always liked fighting, ever since I was a kid, not martial arts, fighting, but I'm not full retard either, I would study moves and try to apply them responsibly (or that's what I like to think). Eventually I ended up practicing Judo for a few years, and recently I practiced Muay Thai for almost a year. Still, I don't get the appeal of practicing in a gym, it's either too family-oriented or too competitive for me. I'm not aiming to become an athlete or just add to my [Social Media] bio that I practice artstyle, and I'm very interested in other styles. So my idea was to make my own style, steal moves from others and practice them by myself at home with occasional sparring sessions with experienced friends and friends of friends. This is also for self-defense, although a bit overkill, I admit, but ball smashing, eye gouging, throat fucking are all in. My plan right now is to practice the following:
> head movement, footwork and striking from Boxing
> striking and kicks from both Muay Thai and (old/straight) Taekwondo
> grappling and throws from Judo/BJJ/Sambo
> anything I find useful in Capoeira cause I'm Brazilian

Anyway, if /xs/ can help me with exercise, training, or routine building suggestions, styles/move suggestions, sharing channel and other resources, I would highly appreciate it.

How effective is low weight, high rep weight training for athletic conditioning for MMA? Apparently Bas and Fedor would do stuff like lots of reps of multi-joint lifts with low weight.

I know this sounds more /fit/ than /xs/ but /fit/ is pretty horrible and full of coomerbait and this board seems more helpful.
